Texas Lottery generates $250 million for Texas Veterans in 15 years

“Every time you play the New York Lottery, our public schools win,” said Commission Chairman Brian O’Dwyer. “The Lottery has generated more than $86 billion for New York’s public schools since 1967, benefiting countless students who have walked their halls. This campaign reminds New Yorkers that Lottery revenue has helped generations of New Yorkers make their dreams come true through a strong education.”

Goldberg, Chair of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. “Because of everyone’s efforts, we are able to provide critical local aid to all 351 communities throughout the state.”
“When you buy a Nebraska Lottery ticket, you’re supporting good causes all across our state,” said Brian Rockey, Nebraska Lottery Director. “Around 25 cents of every dollar spent on lottery products goes to support the environment, education, the Nebraska State Fair, and problem gamblers assistance. We are extremely proud of our record of making a difference in Nebraska along with our players and retailers. Together we’re Building a Better Nebraska.”
"What is most special about this accomplishment is that we generated even more money to fund higher education in every part of the state," Mary Harville, Kentucky Lottery president and CEO said. "The scholarships and grants we fund are important because they encourage Kentucky students to stay in Kentucky, to go to school and eventually make their homes right here in the state."
"The Texas Lottery is excited to begin a new fiscal year with the Lucky 7s scratch ticket family, which offers more than $177 million in total cash prizes across four games,” said Ryan Mindell, executive director of the Texas Lottery
“Our goal to become a $1 billion lottery is in our sight with this year’s tremendous revenue success,” said Tom Seaver, Director of the Colorado Lottery, “and we’ll soon surpass the $200 million mark for our proceeds partners that support our state’s parks, recreation, open space, and wildlife preservation projects.
Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery, said the investment of lottery funds to build new schools represents the most visible sign of how the lottery benefits communities all across the state.

“The Lottery team is proud to have topped $600 million in sales for the third time in our 33-year history!” said Lottery President and CEO, Rose Hudson. “We’re equally proud to have delivered nearly $205 million to the state treasury to support K-12 public education.”
“We’ve had a huge growth spurt the last four years,” said Harold Mays, director of the Illinois Lottery. “Everybody engages with the lottery. It’s a very simple proposition.” Instant scratch tickets accounted for $2 billion or 57% of the $3.6 billion in total Illinois lottery sales last year, according to the state’s annual report on wagering for fiscal year 2023.
Watch Virginia Lottery Director Khalid Jonesannounce that the Virginia Lottery’s fiscal year 2024 profits exceeded $934 million, the highest in its 36-year history. All profits from the Lottery go towards supporting K-12 public education in the Commonwealth.
“We had an exceptional performance in fiscal year 2023, so we came into (fiscal year) 2024 facing a challenging year-over-year comparison,” John Martin, director of the state’s Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, said in a statement Friday. “Nonetheless, we had another strong year on a number of fronts.”
