Retail casino gaming revenue down in PA, but iGaming and sports betting soars

Total revenue is down at casinos across the state, according to figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

According to the numbers, released earlier this month, revenue for Nov. 2020 was $284,267,329, a year-over-year decrease of 2.68%.

The decrease in revenue is not unexpected, as the state's stay-at-home orders have kept gamblers out of the casinos.

Slot revenue took the biggest hit this year, which is down 31.59% from $189,333,840 to $129,530,805.

Table gaming was also down almost 30%.

However, iGaming slots and table games picked up the slack. iGaming slots increased from $5,093,788 to $39,393,804 for a year-over-year increase of 673.37%. iGaming table game revenue had a similar 592.17% increase.

Sports wagering also saw a 153.74% increase from $14,720,686 to $37,350,246.

Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh saw a 40% decrease in revenue year-over-year from $33,446,354 in Nov. 2019, to $20,057,535 in Nov. 2020.
