ALEA became a Member of the United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), the updated name of the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS), established in 2015 by the World Lottery Association (WLA) and European Lotteries (EL).
ULIS facilitates the exchange of information regarding transactions and sports, contributing to the collective effort of its members to improve sports integrity globally.
For ALEA and its members, joining the international organization marks a significant step to achieve new synergies worldwide and advances for the integrity of sports betting in Argentina.
In Maipú, Mendoza, within the framework of the 66th ALEA Ordinary Assembly, the members held a conversation with Luca Esposito, Secretary General, from Switzerland, headquarters of the Global Sports Betting Monitoring System (GLMS).
It should be remembered that GLMS partnered with sports governing bodies such as the International Olympic Committee, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and Union of European Football Association (UEFA) in the fight against match-fixing around the world.
In its statement, ULIS highlighted: “After Peru, Argentina is the second South American country to receive a lottery member at ULIS this year. ALEA has joined ULIS as a regular member, an action praised by the international community as an important step to ensure sporting integrity and combat competition manipulation in the region."
