HARRISBURG — Gaming revenues in Pennsylvania reached a record in March. In fact — revenues for the month was the highest achieved in a single month.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reports that the combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming along with fantasy contests during March 2022 totaled $462,740,098. That is an increase from March 2021 of $14.7%.

The previous high revenue month occurred in November 2021 at $432,490,129.

The record was driven by all-time highs in two gaming sectors including:

Retail Table Games which exceeded $90 million for the first time; and Internet Casino-Type Gaming which exceeded $110 million for the first time.

Total tax revenue generated through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests for the month was $187 million.

Wyomissing-based Penn National Gaming Inc. had the most profitable facility in the state during March. The Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Dauphin County saw total revenue of $63.7 million, an increase of 11.44% over March 2021. That figure is about $3.2 million more than Parx Casino, Bensalem, in Bucks County which had $60.4 million in revenue in March.

Hollywood Casino saw most of its revenue generated from internet gaming, accounting for $45 million. Slot machines accounted for $14.5 million and table games were $2.6 million.

Hollywood Casino York, which opened in August 2021 had revenue of $7.9 million, with $5.9 million generated from slots.

The Hollywood Casino in Morgantown, which opened in December 2021, had total revenue in March of $5.6 million, with $4.2 million generated from slots.

Four casinos showed decreases from a year ago. Mount Airy Casino Resort in Mt. Pocono had revenue for the month of $20.3 million, down 14.2% from March 2021; Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Washington County had revenue for the month of $20.5 million, a decrease of 2.1% from March 2021; Parx Casino in Bensalem had revenue for the month of $60.6 million, a decrease of 1.6% from March 2021 and Mohegan Sun Pocono had revenue for the month of $22.3 million, a decrease of about 1% from March 2021.

Among other regional casinos:

• Rivers Casino Philadelphia had total revenue of $54.5 million, with internet gaming generating $30.2 million, $10.8 million from slots and $11.9 million from table games.
• Valley Forge Casino in Upper Merion had total revenue of $51.8, with slots generating $9.4million, $3 million from table games and $23.9 million from internet gaming.
• Wind Creek Bethlehem had total revenue of $47.3 million, with $23.7 million generated by slots, $21.7 million from table games and $1 .5 million from internet gaming.
• Live! Casino Philadelphia reported $25.1 million in total revenue, with $11.5 million generated by slots, $9.3 million from table games and $3.2 million from internet gaming.
• Harrah’s Philadelphia, Chester reported $18.7 million in total revenue, with $12.8 million from slots, $2.6 million from table games and $3.1 million from internet gaming.

Video Gaming Terminal revenue was $3.8 million, with $2.3 million going to Penn National-owned Marquee by Penn.

Sources of gaming revenue regulated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and VGTs.
