In total, gaming companies with Swedish licenses had a turnover of SEK 24.8 billion (players' bets less paid profits) in 2019. During the fourth quarter, SEK 6.7 billion was traded. The figures are preliminary and are largely based on information from the Swedish Tax Agency on tax decided.
At the end of the fourth quarter, more than 48,000 were suspended via Spelpaus.se. This is an increase of 16 percent compared to the previous quarter. At the beginning of March 2020, the number had increased to just over 49,000 people.
96 companies had active licenses in the Swedish market in March 2020 (licenses for non-profit purposes not included). 70 of these companies were licensed for betting and / or commercial games online.
There is no actual information on how much is played at gaming companies without a Swedish license. The British analysis company H2 Gambling Capital estimates that during the fourth quarter of 2019, it was played for between SEK 580 - 690 million (after paid profits) at companies outside the Swedish licensing system. According to H2 Gambling Capital, the estimated figure for the full year 2019 is SEK 1.8-2.2 billion.

About the compilation
The Game Inspectorate continuously collects and analyzes data to monitor trends in the gaming area. Information on turnover for games for non-profit purposes is collected by the Gaming Inspectorate. For actors that are liable to tax, the turnover figures are based on information on tax decided by the Swedish Tax Agency. The information on games for players without a Swedish license is taken from H2 Gambling Capital, one of the leading providers of global gaming market data.
Difficult to determine how sales have changed in 2019 compared to 2018
Based on available data, it appears that turnover in the Swedish gaming market would have increased significantly in 2019. It can probably be explained by earlier estimates of turnover of players without a permit before the re-regulation was too low.
