The Gambling Commission has welcomed the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS) consultation on society lottery reform.

The consultation explores a number of proposals including raising the annual limit of society lottery sales from £10m to £100m a year and increasing the maximum prize from £400,000 to £500,000.

The Gambling Commission has provided its advice to Government on the proposals.

Paul Hope, Gambling Commission Executive Director, said: “We’re pleased that DCMS has announced this consultation – it offers an excellent opportunity for all those with an interest in lotteries to ensure their voices are heard. We would encourage any interested parties to respond.

The Government consultation closes on 7 September, 2018.
