Swedish Government to Introduce Licensing Requirement for Gambling Software Suppliers

Invitation to an information meeting regarding permits for handling gambling software

The Swedish Government has proposed that, from 1 July 2023, there will be a permit requirement implemented to the Swedish Gambling Act for those who handle gambling software. The purpose of the new legislation is to ensure a high level of channelling, and thereby prevent illegal gambling. Those given a permit to handle gambling software will then be prohibited to manufacture, supply, install and/or adapt gambling software to gambling operators (B2C) operating without a necessary license in Sweden.

Information meeting 7 December
The 7th of December the Swedish Gambling Authority will arrange an information meeting for all operators who hold a Swedish gambling license, and actors who manufacture, supply, install and/or adapt gambling software. The information meeting is based on the decision that the Parliament is expected to make shortly, regarding the implementation of a permit requirement for handling gambling software.

The presentation will be in Swedish, with the availability of simultaneous translation into English.

Registration : will open 11.00
