Massachusetts moves forward on sports betting

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission agreed to conduct public discussions this month to gather ideas from stakeholders to regulate sports betting in the state, including licensees Wynn Resorts Ltd. and MGM Resorts International, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.

Commissioners agreed to move as fast as possible to introduce regulations making Massachusetts the 31st state in the country to offer legalized sports betting which could begin by early next year.

The bill awaiting the governor's signature would permit sports betting at commercial casinos, horseracing tracks and sports venues, and permit kiosks at restaurants and bars, as well as seven mobile wagering apps.
