While the fate of two dueling casino proposals in Queens will ultimately be decided by the state’s Gaming Commission, the groups behind the two projects are looking to win over an audience they claim is just as important – the public.
The competing developers behind Resorts World New York City’s casino expansion project and Metropolitan Park, a casino and entertainment complex planned for Citi Field’s parking lot, almost simultaneously this month opened new models and visual representations of their projects to the public. The flashy displays are intended to invite locals to imagine a future where at least one full-scale casino is operating in Queens.
