Dear Gaming Colleague –
At the recommendation of the CEO search committee and the executive committee, the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) Board of Directors today named Bill Miller the Association’s next President and Chief Executive Officer.
Bill is one of the most respected government affairs leaders in Washington and joins the AGA at a time when our industry can benefit from his unique skill set. When he officially assumes his responsibilities on January 14th, Bill will bring with him more than three decades of experience on Capitol Hill and from leadership positions within membership organizations like ours.
Currently wrapping up his responsibilities as the senior vice president at the Business Roundtable, the association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. corporations, Bill has been responsible for overseeing the association’s outreach to Capitol Hill and the Administration for the past six and a half years.
Prior to his work at the BRT, Bill spent time at international corporate communications firm Brunswick, leading the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Political Affairs & Federal Relations efforts, and serving as the business federation’s National Political Director, overseeing its legislative, advocacy and lobbying tactics. He coordinated and executed political and grassroots operations and implemented lobbying campaigns on many of the top issues facing the business community during his 12 years at the Chamber.
We were fortunate during this process to have dedicated leaders in Stacy Papadopoulos and Sara Slane to continue the association’s success and progress. With their guidance and the dedication of the AGA staff, the association hasn’t skipped a beat while the search committee vetted many qualified candidates for the position.
Bill is excited to roll up his sleeves and get to work on behalf of AGA’s diverse membership and looks forward to meeting you all. Thank you for your continued support during this transitional time for the AGA, and please join me in welcoming Bill to the gaming industry.
Sincerely,
Tim Wilmott
CEO, Penn National Gaming
Chairman, AGA Board of Directors
