The Dutch Gambling Authority's Chief Executive, Marja Appelman, is set to leave the organisation

The Dutch Gambling Authority's Chief Executive, Marja Appelman, is set to leave the organisation after five years of service in the role.

Appelman is set to take the post of Executive Director of the Housing Market Directorate at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, from August 1.

Her appointment at the Housing Market Directorate means that Marja Appelman will step down as the Chair of GREF (Gaming Regulators European Forum). Her role will be filled by the vice-chair Claire Pinson of French regulator ARJEL, until the 2019 annual meeting when her mandate ends.

A statement from the Netherlands Gambling Authority thanked Appelman for her service saying: “Under her management, the supervision of the gambling market has become more proactive, more risk based, and more focused on international cooperation.”
