LOTTERY PRESIDENT NAMED CHAIR OF THE WORLD LOTTERY ASSOCIATION’S CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY COMMITTEE
NASHVILLE—Rebecca P. Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation, has been appointed Chair of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of the World Lottery Association (WLA).
“This is an incredible opportunity,” said Ms. Hargrove. “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) encompasses a broad range of initiatives to reinforce the vital position lotteries hold in our communities, and I’m proud to be part of the development and maintenance of such programs.”
As part of its commitment to CSR, the WLA has been a pioneer in steering responsible gaming practices—a top priority in Tennessee and around the world. In fact, Tennessee has achieved a prestigious Level 3 Certification from WLA as part of the organization’s responsible gaming framework.
Ms. Hargrove is also the founding Chair of “Women’s Initiative in Lottery Leadership,” another CSR initiative designed to increase mentoring opportunities in the lottery industry for women. “Our ambition is to create a path for talented and passioniate women professionals around the globe to realize their full potential,” said Ms. Hargrove.
“From partnering with schools and participating in food bank drives to setting business goals for minority business participation, ensuring staff diversity and instilling a green workplace, lotteries can provide benefits to the community in addition to the beneficiary programs they were created to fund.” In Tennessee, the Lottery’s CSR programs include responsible gaming, community outreach, an anti-litter program, and inclusion and diversity initiatives.
