Andria Vidler who has led Allwyn’s UK operations since 2023, will now guide the strategic direction of the association’s work on behalf of the ad industry

The CEO of National Lottery operator Allwyn UK has been named President of The Advertising Association (AA).

Andria Vidler – who has led Allwyn’s UK operations since 2023, will now guide the strategic direction of the association’s work on behalf of the ad industry.

Taking over from Alessandra Bellini, Vidler will aim to promote the role and rights of responsible advertising – trusted, inclusive and sustainable – and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy.

Working alongside Chair Dame Annette King and CEO Stephen Woodford, she will focus on rebuilding public trust in advertising via the “Value of Trust” campaign, improving talent recruitment and retention through the All In initiative and driving positive action on climate change via Ad Net Zero.

Vidler emphasised that she is excited to be joining the AA as President at such a ‘critical time’.

She stated: “I look forward to working with Stephen, Annette and the team at the AA, and building on the impressive work on behalf of members, to help them deliver responsible advertising that is trusted, inclusive and sustainable.”

Appointed in 2023 to lead Allwyn’s UK operations, Vidler ‘reinvigorated’ The National Lottery to deliver even more to Good Causes.

Over at the AA, Vidler will now support the group’s work around major policy areas, including the government’s industrial strategy, responsible use of AI in advertising and sensitive categories including less healthy foods (LHF).

Meanwhile, the organisation’s current priority workstreams also include rebuilding public trust in advertising through its Value of Trust campaign.

Further focal points are talent recruitment and retention in a workplace where everyone feels they belong through ‘All In’ as well as taking positive action on climate change through the Ad Net Zero initiative.

Woodford added: “Firstly, I would like to thank Alessandra for her enormous contribution and commitment during her time as president.

“She has led the way, particularly in championing the importance of our industry implementing a clear and progressive talent recruitment and retention strategy to make sure we have the very best people working in our businesses.”
