Tore Bell has been confirmed as the chief gambling regulator in Norway after over a year acting in an interim capacity. Bell was appointed as director of the gambling department at the Lottery and Foundations Authority, Norway’s gambling regulator…

The long-term civil servant served as acting director from October 2023, and has been with the Lottery and Foundations Authority since 2001.

In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing gambling in Norway, including enforcement against grey and black market operators.

Bell said: “I am very happy to have been given the job as department director in a department with committed employees who are passionate about our social mission: to ensure responsible gambling.”
