The 73rd Ordinary Assembly of the Board of Legal Representatives of the Association of State Lotteries of Argentina (ALEA) ended on Wednesday, May 15 in the city of Salta. The event was organized together with the Gaming Regulatory Entity of the province of Salta and had the participation of 23 jurisdictions, as planned.
Election of the new president and vice presidents
At this Assembly, the renewal of the positions of the Board of Directors of the Association was carried out. As a result, the Provincial Institute of Games and Casinos (IPJYC) of Mendoza, chaired by Dr. Ida López , was elected President of ALEA. It stands out that Dr. López will be the first woman to hold this position in the almost 54 years of history of the Association.
The Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 biennium was formed as follows:
- President: Provincial Institute of Games and Casinos of Mendoza, represented by Dr. Ida López .
- Vice President: Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos of the Province of Buenos Aires, represented by Dr. Gonzalo Atanasof .
- 1st Vice President: Social Assistance Fund of the Province of Santa Fe, represented by Vice President Daniel Di Lena .
- 2nd Vice President: Chubut Social Assistance Institute, chaired by Luis María Aguirre .
Other positions on the Board of Directors include Secretary, Pro-Secretary, Treasurer and the Collegiate Syndicate, made up of representatives of different entities related to games of chance.
Prevention of illegal gambling and other topics addressed
During the Assembly, topics of great importance for the gaming industry were discussed, such as the prevention of illegal gaming on online platforms and the harm this can cause to minors. The state of online gaming in the country was analyzed and the creation of a joint working group and an online gaming observatory was established to address this problem more effectively.
In addition, administrative and internal matters were discussed, such as the Balance Sheet for Fiscal Year 2023 and the Budget 2024.
