Taking effect immediately, the new appointee will be replacing Ronald Prins as the Chairperson of the regulator’s advisory board. Having worked in numerous Dutch government organizations in high-level positions, Vegter was an excellent candidate to lead the Kansspelautoriteit’s advisory board.
Some of her previous experiences involved working at the Dutch ministry of justice and security and the Authority of Consumers and Markets. In her most recent position, Vegter was a senior judge at Amsterdam’s district court.
Furthermore, with the announcement of the appointment of a new Chairperson for its advisory board, the Kansspelautoriteit has also published several other changes to its management team, most noteworthy of which is the appointment of Haiko van der Voort as a council member. Van der Voort is an Associate Proffessor at TU Delft working at the institution’s faculty of technology, management, and policy.
Other major changes include the departure of The Schuyt and Han Moraal from the Dutch regulator’s advisory board, as their office terms have recently expired.
“We are very pleased with this renewal and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have an Advisory Council in which knowledge about so many domains is present within the context of our tasks. To our outgoing members I would like to express my thanks for their valuable contributions.”
