Kentucky Lottery President and CEO, Mary Harville, announced the following promotions.
The promotion of Maggie Garrison to VP, Chief Financial Officer. Maggie began her career with the lottery in 2011 as an Audit Manager. In 2014 she joined the Finance Department as an Accounting Manager and was promoted to VP, Corporate Controller in 2015.
Maggie led the KLC’s initiative to implement the Dynamics365 ERP system, which was successfully delivered on time and under budget. She has made significant contributions to improve business practices, processes, analytics, and business outcomes. She is known for her outstanding board meeting presentations, receiving accolades both from the board and her KLC peers. She has an exemplary work ethic, excellent customer relations skills, is a consistent team player, and an effective teacher/mentor - all attributes of an outstanding team member and leader. Maggie is well respected, trusted and a go-to person on many issues. Because of this, she has cultivated numerous successful working relationships in the organization. Maggie comes to work every day with a positive attitude and the desire to make the KLC a better organization.
The promotion of Howard Kline will transition to EVP, Chief Strategy Officer.
Howard began his career at the lottery in 1994 as SVP Internal Audit. In 1995, he was promoted to SVP, Finance & Administration and then to EVP, Chief Financial Officer in 2014. In this new role, Howard will serve as a trusted advisor, counselor and thought partner for the organization. He will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement short and long-term strategic plans that align with the company’s mission, vision, and values. He will also work directly with departments to identify opportunities, set goals, and develop plans for growth and expansion in order to maximize business operations, increase revenue, and net income. Howard is well-suited for this role for many reasons, including his extensive industry knowledge and experience, and his ability to identify opportunities and develop solutions. He strategically approaches issues based on data and analytics, and he is always searching for ways to improve the organization. Howard is a highly effective and trusted leader, and a valuable resource to the organization. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity for him to continue to serve the organization in this new role.
