The WLA is dedicated to continuously improving the products and services it offers to the WLA membership. In keeping with this theme, we are pleased to announce several measures taken recently to strengthen the WLA’s position as the industry-leading body representing the interests of the state-regulated lottery and sports betting sector.

Office relocation

As you may be aware, the WLA moved its headquarters from Basel, Switzerland to Lausanne, Switzerland in May of last year. For the past ten months the WLA has been occupying temporary offices in Lausanne.

We are now pleased to announce that as of March 1, 2021, the WLA has found a permanent home in Lausanne at the premises of Loterie Romande, the state-regulated lottery for the French-speaking cantons of Switzerland. The move to the Lotterie Romande campus provides numerous advantages for the WLA, such as direct access to the EL and GLMS, who are also co-located at Loterie Romande, and access to Loterie Romande’s extensive infrastructure, including supporting services. It will also allow the WLA to be fully immersed in a lottery environment.

Corporate redesign

Parallel to the move to Lausanne we have been working on refreshing the WLA’s corporate design. In November of last year we began with the redesign of the WLA logo. After considering various ideas we settled on a design proposal by the Buntin Group, a brand identity agency from Nashville, Tennessee, USA. This email represents the first public presentation of the new logo. You will see it increasingly in the coming days as we move to solidify the WLA’s brand identity.

New website

With regards to solidifying the WLA’s corporate identity, one of the first measures we have undertaken is to redesign the WLA website. The new website boasts a modern, mobile-friendly, content-rich design, which we hope you will find both intuitive and comfortable to use.

The revamped website has been re-built from the ground up on a new platform. As a result, we kindly ask that you re-register for the website if you wish to have access to the member section. One noteworthy addition to the website is a rubric dedicated to good causes: it is becoming increasingly important that the public becomes more aware of the good work that our members do to support their respective communities. A highlight of the new good causes section is the presentation of the WLA’s Play for Society project. Launched in 2020, the Play for Society project provides WLA members with a platform to shine a light on their beneficiary programs. From numerous of the submissions received, a video collage has been produced celebrating the Play for Society project. We hope you will take the time to view the good causes section of the website and join us in celebrating the Play for Society project.
