Florida Lottery breaks national scratch-off sales record

Resulting in More Than $35 Million Generated for Florida Education!

Today, the Florida Lottery announced that Scratch-Off ticket sales for the week ending February 28, 2021, exceeded $193.5 million, setting a new industry record for the highest single-week Scratch-Off sales of any Lottery in the country! This record-breaking Scratch-Off sales week resulted in more than $35.7 million generated for the benefit of Florida students and schools. Last week’s record-breaking sales surpassed the previous single-week Scratch-Off sales record, also held by the Florida Lottery, of $149.8 million for the week ending March 1, 2020.

“By launching new Scratch-Off games with a variety of play styles and price points, we are giving our players what they want, and the results speak for themselves,” said Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis. “This means that our players have more winning opportunities, retailers are earning higher commissions, and most importantly, more revenue is being generated for education in Florida.”

Last week’s sales were led by the new $30 BILLION DOLLAR GOLD RUSH SUPREME Scratch-Off game, with more than $25.5 million in sales, followed by the $10 GOLD RUSH SUPREME Scratch-Off game, with more than $15 million in sales.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 75 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $1.1 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2019-20.
