China: Increase observed in lottery sales, October

MENAFN) According to figures from China's Ministry of Finance, the country's lottery sales hit 30.72 billion yuan (around USD4.67 billion) during October, a rise by 11.5 percent from the very period in the past year.

During October, sales of sports lottery increased 24 percent, reaching around USD2.8 billion, whereas welfare lottery sales tickets declined 3.2 percent annually, reaching USD1.8 billion.

During the first 10 months, sales of lottery reached about USD40 billion, a drop by 23.9 percent annually.

Under lottery management regulations of China, money from ticket sales goes to managerial expenses, public interests ventures, and prize winnings.
