Job Summary
A rare and exciting opportunity to become the Director of the West Virginia Lottery. This position oversees the agency with annual sales exceeding $1.2 billion, provides executive leadership in establishing broad policies and objectives, and is primarily responsible for all financial, administrative, and program operations.
Essential Functions
· Manages and directs the work of eight (8) Deputy Directors in finance, audits, marketing, security, information technology, gaming, licensing, and video lottery, as well as an Associate General Counsel, who handles the legal unit.
· Regulation of the five (5) casinos, which include the Greenbrier Resort, and thousands of video lottery terminals statewide.
· Collaborate with a seven-member Commission at the required monthly meetings. Set the meeting agendas and review the agenda items with the Commissioners before the meeting.
· Utilize marketing channels and methods to achieve sales goals through chain stores and independent retailer locations.
· Work with various service providers on sports wagering and internet gaming.
· Represent the agency before local officials, legislative committees, executives, and senior managers; establish and maintain relationships with industry colleagues, government officials, business leaders, and other stakeholders.
· Regularly interacts with senior-level executives from other state Lotteries. Represent the WV Lottery on various committees nationally and at the state level.
· Establish and monitor technology to support the agency's gaming operations, financial reporting, audits, and government compliance requirements.
Experience
Executive experience in planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of an organization or agency. Proven experience motivating, developing, and mentoring staff towards meeting the goals and objectives of the organization’s mission. Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills.
