DODOMA: THE new National Lottery operator, Ithuba Tanzania is committed to transparency, accountability and fraud prevention to drive national progress and sustainable sports development.

The Company’s Director, Mr Kelvin Koka stated that the initiative is expected to impact multiple sectors, from job creation to grassroots sports programmes.

“The National Lottery is set to become a key driver of the country’s economic growth and social progress, particularly through the taxes and commissions generated by gaming activities,” he stated.

Mr Koka emphasised that to ensure the lottery’s integrity before its official launch later this year, Ithuba is collaborating with the Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) to implement strict oversight and internationally recognised best practices.

He outlined the company’s plans for the National Lottery, which is expected to inject funds into the economy and promote an inclusive gaming culture.

An initial investment of 20 million US dollars will be allocated to infrastructure, employment, technology and partnerships.

“The national lottery is about creating opportunities, generating jobs and empowering people. Every ticket purchased contributes to national progress,” Mr Koka said.

He highlighted the company’s commitment to fairness, security and compliance, ensuring transparency and protecting the lottery from fraud and cyber threats.

Ithuba will conduct public education campaigns to inform Tanzanians about the lottery, responsible gaming and fairness measures.

These initiatives aim to empower players with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions, promoting a safe and enjoyable gaming experience for all.
