On November 12 and 13, 2024, the Argentine State Lottery Association (ALEA) is organizing the workshop “The Role of Lotteries and their Positive Impact on Society: Towards Responsible and Sustainable Management of Online Gaming and Sports Betting” at the Eleton Resort Hotel, in the city of Villa Carlos Paz, Córdoba. This high-level event will bring together regular and supporting members of the association, industry professionals and experts, as well as different stakeholders in the gaming sector from both Argentina and the region.

The main objective of this workshop is to highlight the positive impact of official lotteries and legal gambling on Argentine society, as well as to address the challenges related to responsible management and sustainability in the sector. The aim is to encourage collaboration and the exchange of experiences among participants, promoting a collective approach to move towards practices that not only optimize the user experience, but also minimize the risks associated with gambling.

During the event, key topics will be discussed, such as the political and management challenges in the gambling sector in Argentina, the fight against illegal online gambling and its impact on minors' access to betting, and the roles of illegal gambling structures in the country. Issues related to responsible communication and digital marketing in the sector, the use of artificial intelligence and Big Data for responsible innovations, and the importance of certifications for the sustainability of the sector will also be addressed.

An important part of the event will include the ALEA General Assembly of Members, where institutional issues will be discussed and the foundations and fundamentals of online gaming in Argentina will be debated, as well as the challenges and recent lessons learned in the regulation and control of the sector. Authorities and officials from regulatory bodies, together with supplier companies, will have the opportunity to analyze the current situation and future prospects, especially in the context of the implementation of new technologies.

In addition to providing an opportunity for professional development, this event will serve as a networking space, facilitating dialogue between the various players in the industry. The aim is for interaction and collaboration between operators, regulators, and suppliers in the sector to result in a safer, more transparent, and more sustainable development of the gaming market.

The event will take place at the Eleton Resort & SPA, a hotel located in a privileged location in Villa Carlos Paz, offering elegance, comfort and quality services, ensuring an enriching experience for all attendees. Registration is open until November 1 and participants can participate as a regular member, adherent member, or as a non-member company, with different benefits depending on the category. Hotel accommodation is also offered at special rates, which must be managed through the ALEA registration platform.
