The Mississippi Lottery Corporation transferred about $8.9 million in net proceeds from October 2024 to the state’s Lottery Proceeds Fund.
The $8,949,720.34 transfer marked the corporation’s monthly proceeds in support of the state’s road and bridge projects as well as the Education Enhancement Fund as outlined in the Alyce G. Clarke Mississippi Lottery Law.
By law, the first $80 million amassed in a fiscal year goes to Mississippi Department of Transportation projects. Any proceeds topping $80 million are earmarked for the state’s Education Enhancement Fund.
The Mississippi Lottery has transferred nearly $36.5 million to the state for Fiscal Year 2025, which began July 1, 2024.
Since its first day of sales, Nov. 25, 2019, the lottery has transferred more than $615.2 million to the state, MLC said.
