The New York Lottery reported sales of $601.9 million for the four weeks to 28 September, a fall of 2 per cent on weaker Powerball sales.

Powerball sales dropped by 60 per cent year-on-year to $24.2 million, but Mega Millions saw a 44 per cent increase to $33.1 million.

Instant win sales grew by 3 per cent in September to $331.2 million, representing 55 per cent of New York’s total monthly sales.
