Caixa Econômica Federal proposed to the government the allocation of a +Milionária lottery prize to help with the climate tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul. This action alone could allocate R$ 100 million (US$ 20m) to the State, said the president of the public bank Carlos Vieira, to journalists this Thursday (16).
In order to minimize losses and help the people of Rio Grande do Sul, victims of the latest floods, the public bank decided to donate R$100 million (US$ 20m) from the +Milionária lottery prizes to the State. The entity has already taken other actions, in addition to this, such as allowing the suspension of payment of financing loans.
“On Caixa’s part, everything is resolved,” he said, highlighting that the government lacks authorization for the action to be carried out. “It is another branch of the possibilities that Caixa has”, he stated.
+Milionária was launched two years ago, with the proposal to pay double-digit millions in prizes.
The public bank has already taken actions, such as allowing the suspension of payment of financing loans, which have so far had an impact of R$66.8 billion (US$ 13.36bn) on the portfolio.
Regarding the impact of the tragedy on the bank's balance sheet, Vieira said that he thinks more in terms of the investment and financing opportunities that the reconstruction of the State will generate, with the need to rebuild entire neighborhoods, which will require financing.
+Milionária is a different lottery that offers players more chances of winning and a minimum prize of R$10 million (US$ 2 m). +Milionária has a steering wheel with two matrices, called: Matrix of Numbers and Matrix of Numbered Clovers.
With a draw every Saturday, the lottery has a minimum bet of R$6 (US$1.2), in which the player can choose 6 numbers in matrix I (numbers from 1 to 50) and two numbers in matrix II (clovers from 1 to 6) from the cards of games.
