Happy Birthday Club Keno! Michigan Lottery Celebrates 20 Years of Club Keno Game

Club Keno LogoClub Keno is turning 20, and the Michigan Lottery is celebrating two decades of fun, and billions in contributions to the state’s School Aid Fund and prizes to players!

Launched on Oct. 27, 2003, Club Keno was initially available only in bars and restaurants throughout Michigan. In Nov. 2005, the KICKER was added to the game, which allows players to win up to 10 times the amount of their prize. In June 2009, sales began for The Jack, an add-on game to Club Keno. Wagers are $1 and the jackpot, which starts at $10,000, progressively increases throughout the state, until it is won. In Oct. 2010, Club Keno was added to offerings at all Lottery retailer locations. In Feb. 2018, Extra was added to Club Keno. For just $1 more per $1 wagered, Extra gives players another chance to win with their Club Keno numbers in the Extra drawing.

Over the course of 20 years, Club Keno players have won more than $6.8 billion in prizes, including five prizes of $500,000 or more. The largest Club Keno prize ever won was a $503,254 Club Keno The Jack prize won Aug. 2, 2023, at Fletcher’s Pub #2, located at 3013 Oakland Drive in Kalamazoo.

In addition to billions in prizes to players, Club Keno is responsible for more than $2.5 billion in contributions to the state’s School Aid Fund since it began in 2003.

Club Keno gives players 37 different ways to play and win. Players select up to 10 numbers to match from one to 80, with prize amounts determined based on the amount the player wagered. For an additional $1 per draw, players may add The KICKER, The Extra, or The Jack to their ticket. Each add-on feature gives players extra chances to win.
