The Minas Gerais State Lottery (Lemg) will hold a public consultation next Tuesday, 10th. The Minas Gerais lottery consultation takes place before the launch of the tender for the concession of the exploration and operation of online games in the online/real time system .

As it is an International Public Competition type bidding process, groups from Brazil and abroad can participate. According to the State of Minas, the current link was extended until 2025 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The pandemic profoundly affected all businesses, including our lottery business. Things started to reopen, the vaccine came and then the markets started to reopen”, director of operations at Loteria Mineira, Antônio Celso Pereira in an interview with EM.

“However, we had a huge loss for eight months. An agreement was reached and the contracts were evaluated to merit financial rebalancing,” he added.

In relation to the sports betting sector, Pereira revealed that this operation is already part of the current agreement, on the LotoMinas Portal. “We decided that we are going to remove this sports betting tab from the portal. We are going to separate it.”

“Because today, the federal government is offering a valid authorization for the national territory, and we can only operate within Minas Gerais”, he added.

Furthermore, the operations director of Loteria Mineira highlighted that there is a value chain that needs to be taken into consideration throughout the process.

“For the exploration of traditional paper lotteries, we obtained a 20-year contract in which the operator made a commitment to pay, over this period, at least R$500 million in revenue”, he concluded.
