The Ibero-American Corporation of State Lotteries and Betting (Cibelae) has the honor to announce that the Portuguese athlete Patrícia Mamona, silver medalist in the triple jump at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and European indoor and outdoor champion, will be one of the keynote speakers of the XVIII Cibelae Congress that will be held from November 19 to 22, 2023 at the Altis Grand Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.
An inspiration for everyone
Patrícia Mamona is one of the best athletes in the world in the triple jump discipline. With a brilliant career full of success, she has shown that with work, resistance and focus you can achieve your goals, both personal and professional.
Patrícia began practicing athletics at the age of 13, but it was not until she was 22 when she realized that she wanted to dedicate herself to triple jumping. She studied medicine in the United States, where she competed on the American university circuit. In 2012, she won the silver medal at the European Championships in Helsinki and participated in the London Olympics.
His career took off in 2016, when he broke the national triple jump record with a mark of 14.65 meters at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. That same year, she won gold at the European Athletics Championships and was honored with the rank of Commander of the Order of Merit.
In 2021, she made history again by winning indoor gold at the European Athletics Championships and silver in the long jump at the Tokyo Olympics with 15.01 meters, setting a new national record. In 2022, she was awarded the rank of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit. In 2023, she took bronze in the triple jump at the European Indoor Championships held in Turkey.
Patrícia Mamona has been awarded the Stromp Prize in the athletics category in 2012, 2016 and 2021. She is an athlete for the Sporting Clube de Portugal and is of Angolan descent.
