Countdown to $1 Billion Powerball Drawing

WHAT

Tonight’s Powerball® jackpot is estimated at $1 billion, with an estimated cash value of $516.8 million. The jackpot ranks as the third largest Powerball jackpot and the seventh largest U.S. lottery jackpot.

National ticket sales have doubled from this same time last week, and game leaders forecast the bulk of ticket sales for tonight’s drawing will happen in the final hours leading up to state lottery sales cut-off times.

WHEN

The next Powerball drawing will take place at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee at 10:59 p.m. ET tonight – Wednesday, July 19.  The drawing will be broadcast live by carrier TV stations across the country and live streamed on Powerball.com.

WHO

Drew Svitko, Powerball Product Group Chair and Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director:

“This billion dollar jackpot run has already created more than three dozen $1 million prize winners and generated nearly half a billion dollars for good causes supported by U.S. lotteries. In the final hours leading up to tonight’s Powerball drawing, we kindly request that our players keep the game fun. Play responsibly and within your limits. It really only takes one ticket to win.”

WHERE

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets are $2 per play. Ticket sale cut-off times vary by jurisdiction, but typically occur 1-2 hours before the scheduled drawing. Players should check with their local lottery for information on ticket sale cut-off times and how to claim a prize.
