Idaho Lottery Issues RFI for Package Delivery Services

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Lottery has formally issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking feedback from responsible, responsive, and experienced package delivery companies interested in providing package delivery services of lottery tickets to approximately 1,200 retailers located in all areas of the state of Idaho. Interested vendors should indicate if they can deliver tickets from the Idaho Lottery warehouse in Boise, Idaho, to shipping depots located for service in northern and eastern Idaho, from shipping depots and/or warehouse to retail locations located throughout the state of Idaho, or both.

“As a responsible government agency, we continually examine the way we do business. We have a firm commitment to good government practices and transparency with respect to our contracted services,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “With a contract of this size and importance, we believe it is imperative that we to do our due diligence and examine the opportunities this may present.”

Qualified package delivery company respondents to the RFI have until 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Friday, February 17, 2023, to provide the Idaho Lottery with written responses indicating interest. A copy of the Package Delivery RFI may be downloaded from the Idaho Lottery’s website at www.idaholottery.com/pages/rfp.

The Idaho Lottery was created in 1989 and during its 33-year history, the Idaho Lottery has sourced its delivery services from qualified vendors operating in Idaho.

“Our package delivery services are another example of how the Idaho Lottery creates economic opportunity for businesses operating in the Gem State,” added Anderson.  “It is one more way we provide value to Idaho beyond our annual dividend returns for the benefit of Public Schools and the State’s Permanent Building Fund, and the commissions earned by our brick-and-mortar retailers.”
