For the 28th year in a row, the Kentucky Lottery has achieved the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and finance reporting. The corporation has once again received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
The Kentucky Lottery was the second lottery in North America to receive this award, and only one other U.S. lottery has received this designation more times than Kentucky.
The award was designed to recognize organizations who demonstrate a spirit of full disclosure and who clearly communicate their financial story.
“I congratulate our Finance Department staff for their tremendous work in making this possible,” said Kentucky Lottery President & CEO Mary Harville. “It isn’t coincidence we started receiving this award once our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Howard Kline joined our staff. This is a result of his leadership of the department, and receiving this designation every year since 1994 is validation of the continuing hard work of our Lottery management and staff.”
