10:00 am.  Panel Discussion: Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

"Digital Lottery" (Players Clubs, Loyalty Programs, Second-Chance programs, digital apps and digital strategies) provides the tools that engage the players in the ongoing interactive relationship that moves us from mass-market-segmentation to micro-targeting to forging the one-to-one relationship that is the future of consumer-facing businesses.  Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is the framework that focuses those efforts onto the consumer – not just integrating but harmonizing the variety of "Digital Lottery" initiatives and tools into a holistic/synergistic strategy.  The next generation discussion revolves less around “channels, media, and platforms” and more around the customer, as CRM moves us from the product-driven world of the past to the customer-driven world of the future.

Panel Discussion: The Future of Lottery Promotions

The evolution of sports in lottery has included team-themed scratch tickets, on-field promotions at sporting events, and games based on the results of sporting contests (live and virtual). In media, pop culture, and entertainment, Powerball collaborates with Ryan Seacrest and ABC to be a part of the New York New Year’s Eve event.  What other strategies might enable Team Lottery to tap into the popularity of sports, celebrities, TV shows, movies, and pop culture characters and themes?  And how can Lottery’s massive retail footprint (and its off-shoots of smaller points of distribution “PODs”, self-serve vending, and non-traditional POS’s) be better leveraged as a promotional platform as well as distributional channel?

The effective collaboration between Lottery Operator and its commercial/technology partners is essential to successful long-term growth and service to good causes.  How can Lottery Operator and technology partners forge the kind of relationship that drives short-term focus and results but is also flexible to support ongoing investment in innovation and integration of new technologies, and positions the Lottery for long-term success?  What are progressive lotteries and their commercial/technology partners doing on an ongoing basis to promote alignment of purpose, maximize the productivity and effectiveness of their collaboration, and facilitate the integration of third-party suppliers?

Panel Discussion: Moving the Needle Now; Maximizing Short-Term Results

We can’t control jackpot rolls and economic trends.  So, what are the levers we can control?  Let’s talk rubber-hits-road issues (like promotional, marketing, sales and distribution and game development strategies) that make a difference to sales right now. How might Lottery’s efforts and resources be channeled for maximum impact and ROI, producing optimal outcomes/results, and driving sales today and this quarter?  How do macro-economic and consumer-spending trends affect lottery player-ship?  How do inflation, higher gasoline prices, or economic hardship in general affect lottery spend?

Panel Discussion: iLottery – If We Knew Then What We Know Now

The very first U.S. lottery to sell a game online was Minnesota back in 2010. Since then, and the implementation of twenty more ilotteries, what have proven out to be the relevant insights, advancements, and keys to success? How have our ideas changed over that time – i.e. what might we have done differently if we had a do-over? What are some current assumptions or methods of operations that we can expect to change in the coming years?  How do online casinos and sports betting influence the online players’ journey and otherwise affect the iLottery sector?  How many states will be offering lottery products online two years from now?
