AUSTIN – As football season quickly approaches, the Texas Lottery and the Houston Texans are teaming up for a 14th straight year to launch a new version of the Houston Texans scratch ticket game and promotional second-chance drawings. The newest version of the $5 game launched on Monday, Aug. 15 and is available at all Texas Lottery® retailers where scratch ticket games are sold.
The latest Houston Texans scratch ticket offers more than $17.7 million in total cash prizes, including four top prizes of $100,000 and 865 non-cash second-chance prizes. Overall odds of winning an instant-win cash prize are one in 3.79, including break-even prizes.
“The Texas Lottery is proud to continue a strong partnership with the Houston Texans to generate much-needed funding for public education in our state through the sale of the always popular Houston Texans scratch ticket game,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “In addition to great cash prizes, this year’s game will once again offer Texas Lottery players and Houston Texans fans chances to win unique second-chance prizes and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.”
Since the first Houston Texans scratch ticket in 2009, all annual versions of the game have combined to generate more than $251.5 million in sales, with $55.1 million of that total being transferred to the Foundation School Fund, which supports Texas education. During that time, more than $171.9 million in prizes from the game has been awarded to winners and more than $12.6 million in commissions has been transferred to retailers around the state.
“The Houston Texans are once again proud to partner with the Texas Lottery to support the Foundation School Fund, which provides funds for Texas public education,” said Greg Grissom, Houston Texans President. “Our unique partnership continues to offer Texans fans throughout the state an opportunity to win great cash prizes and one-of-kind experiences not available anywhere else. We are grateful for our longstanding partnership with the Texas Lottery and all of its valued players throughout Texas.”
Players can enter non-winning Houston Texans scratch tickets into any of the five promotional second-chance drawings to be held throughout the run of the game for the chance to win experiential prizes, including a Private Plane Away Game Trip, Suite and On-Field Contest Experience, Houston Texans Season Tickets or Texans merchandise prize pack. Before entering non-winning tickets into the drawings, Texas Lottery players must register or already be registered with the Texas Lottery Luck Zone.
The five entry deadlines for the separate second-chance drawings are: Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9, with the final drawing date yet to be determined. For more information about the Houston Texans scratch ticket game and promotional second-chance drawings, visit texaslottery.com.
