June 27–28 - ULIS/WLA Event Sports Integrity Seminar ‘The role of lotteries in supporting the sports movement on the prevention of competition manipulation.’

location: Olympic Museum, Lausanne, Switzerland

Lotteries have always had a close collaboration with the Olympic Movement, linked to the development of sport, by financially supporting athletes, sport federations, National Olympic Committees (NOC) or even the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games. The fast-growing sports betting industry of the recent years through new digital technology offers an enormous potential for increasing the benefits of this collaboration, but it also requires serious measures regarding competition manipulation.

The event will be focusing on concrete case studies around the roles lotteries and National Olympic Committees can play when it comes to safeguarding the integrity of sports. Discussions will include the respective responsibilities and actions taken when facing suspicious instances of competition manipulation, how to interact with key stakeholders involved in the process of facilitating the investigations, and the possible conviction of guilty persons.

Registration to this seminar is free and open to WLA, EL, ALA and CIBELAE Members, operating sports betting or being in the process of implementation.

The Seminar will be given in English and is only held as an in-person event.

We are looking forward to welcoming you!
