Ireland National Lottery launches voice assistant for Google and Amazon devices 

LONDON, UK --- December 10, 2018 - Camelot Global today launched a digital voice assistant for the Irish National Lottery, making it one of the first lotteries where players can check winning numbers by voice.

 The ‘Lottery Now’ voice assistant is available in Google Home and Amazon Alexa, allowing Irish players to use a few simple voice commands to check their numbers for Lotto, EuroMillions and Daily Million draws.

 Digital technology has changed the world we live in and how we engage with brands. Based on recent digital and internet usage studies, US adults now spend 5.9 hours per day on digital media and voice-controlled products are taking off, with Amazon’s digital assistant base growing by 50% late last year.

“Customers today expect convenience and a great experience - and lottery players are no different,” said Camelot Global Chief Executive, Wayne Pickup.

“Innovations like ‘Lottery Now’ help lotteries meet their players where they are - they’re online, and they’re talking to their digital assistants. 

“Finding ways to better engage players helps lotteries grow sales and ultimately  increase returns to their communities and good causes.” 

The ‘Lottery Now’ voice assistant was developed by Camelot Global’s digital innovation hub based in Dublin, with the Irish lottery being the first to roll out this new technology.

In 2019, Camelot plans to work with its customers to introduce digital innovations like Lottery Now to further engage players.

Since 2015, Camelot Global has managed the digital lottery for the National Lottery in Ireland, with a focus on developing and growing its digital channel. With Camelot’s support, over that time, the Irish National Lottery has nearly tripled digital sales, while overall sales for the National Lottery grew by 16%.
