Spain Online Gambling For Q1 2018 Showing Overall Revenue Growth

The Spanish Regulator, Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) released the regions online gambling statistics this week showing improvements with overall revenue growth and with its online poker for the first quarter of this year.

Online poker shown improvements thanks to the recently added Portugal shared player pools. The player pool has been shared with France, but most recently added Portugal to the mix. Online revenues were up by 28% for year-on-year comparisons amounting at Euro 163.3 million. Sports betting didn’t fall short either showing an impressive 15.9% markup. In-play betting accounted for 62.5% of sports betting revenues and fixed-odds betting carried 34.9% of the total.

Online casino revenues led the region with Euro 56.6 million in revenues which is a 51% increase while online slots were 52.7% of that total. Online poker has been falling short for some time now but made a comeback with revenues of Euro 21.5 million. Cash games were 30% of that amount with earning Euro 8.4 million.

Online bingo rose almost 30% amounting Euro 3.5 million for revenues. Active users for Q1 climbed 25% to 800,000 while player deposits amounted Euro 562 million, a 58.7% increase.
