The German state of Schleswig-Holstein has issued the first licences to online gaming operators that'll allow them to provide both live dealer casino games as well as table games.
The state had formerly only allowed online poker and slot machines, but has since expanded the offering in an attempt to bolster the iGaming industry. Operators getting approval to provide the games to customers included SkillOnNet, Cashpoint, Tipico, and BluBet. All games provided will have to be in-line with the state's regulations as they're offered to players.
Regarding the move, Schleswig-Holstein Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack said: "By allowing an attractive online offer, we want to prevent players from taking advantage of illegal offers if they want to play the games they know from casinos online, for example, and thus strengthen legal gambling."
One further online casino license is reserved for the state-controlled casino operator Spielbank Schleswig-Holstein.
