September 2025 – German IT service provider adesso SE and the UK based Abacus Solutions International Group, specialists in retail solutions for lottery distribution, are joining forces to strengthen their portfolio in the North American lottery market. Together, the partners provide state-of-the-art services for retail covering the entire process of lottery sales in supermarkets and convenience stores.

adesso brings its innovative lottery tablet to the partnership, complemented by integrated support and service offerings. The Abacus Fusion Platform acts as a highly secure transaction gateway, enabling the seamless integration of lottery into existing retail infrastructures.

With over 20 years of experience in the international lottery industry, adesso is an established provider of software solutions and consulting services. The adesso lottery tablet is the world's first lottery terminal based on consumer hardware. Thanks to integrated AI ticket recognition, it processes tickets at high speed and with high quality. After successful deployment in Germany, the focus is now on rolling out in North America.

The Abacus Fusion Platform will be integrated into the adesso lottery tablet. The platform connects consumers, retailers, and lotteries through existing infrastructure, enabling the sale and validation of lottery tickets. The combination of the lottery tablet and Fusion Platform offers a comprehensive, flexible solution that requires no additional development efforts for lotteries and retailers.

Presentation at the NASPL 2025 Conference

The partnership will be presented for the first time at the NASPL 2025 Conference and Trade Show from September 8 to 12 in Niagara Falls, Canada. This annual event is the central platform for the North American lottery industry and beyond. Both adesso and Abacus will be represented with their own stands at the event, where they will highlight their partnership as well as other parts of their respective portfolios.
