CONCORD, N.H. —

Casino gambling is one step closer to coming to the Granite State.

The New Hampshire Senate passed casino gambling Thursday by a 13 to 11 vote.

The bill now moves to the House. If it passes and Gov. Chris Sununu signs it, two licenses will be available -- one for $40 million and another for $20 million.

Some lawmakers see this as a potential big boost for the local economy.

"It's jobs. It's the ability to watch economic growth. There'll be a building, obviously that will take place, that will help our laborers, and I think it's a real plus all the way around. It's a little late in coming, but hey, it's never too late," Sen. Lou D'Allesandro, D-Manchester, said.

The senator estimated casino gambling would bring in $100 million in revenue each year.
