 Maryland Casinos Generate $137.0 Million During January

Casino gaming revenue contributes $55.3 million to the state

 

(BALTIMORE) – Maryland Lottery and Gaming today announced that January 2019 gaming revenues for the state’s six casinos totaled $136,995,435, an increase of $9,210,979 (7.2%) compared to the January 2018 total of $127,784,456. 

Contributions to the State of Maryland from January 2019 casino gaming revenue totaled $55,326,163, including $41,511,371 for the Education Trust Fund. Casino gaming revenues also support local communities and jurisdictions where the six casinos are located, as well as Maryland’s horse racing industry. 

Maryland has six privately owned casinos that offer both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County; Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City; Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County; Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County; and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

 Five of the six casinos saw year-over-year increases compared to their January 2018 gaming revenue totals:

 

MGM National Harbor (3,137 slot machines, 196 table games)

$56,223,437 in January 2019, an increase of $5,975,988 (11.9%) from January 2018.

 

Live! Casino & Hotel (3,827 slot machines, 197 table games)

$46,292,703 in January 2019, an increase of $2,750,057 (6.3%) from January 2018.

 

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore (2,194 slot machines, 166 table games)

$20,185,971 in January 2019, an increase of $115,238 (0.6%) from January 2018.

 

Hollywood Casino Perryville (822 slot machines, 22 table games)

$5,455,990 in January 2019, a decrease of $242,642 (-4.3%) from January 2018.

Ocean Downs Casino (891 slot machines, 18 table games)

$4,818,251 in January 2019, an increase of $275,128 (6.1%) from January 2018.

 

Rocky Gap Casino Resort (665 slot machines, 17 table games)

$4,019,083 in January 2019, an increase of $337,209 (9.2%) from January 2018.
