The nine Bavarian casinos located in the south-east of Germany generated €106m in 2022 with the leading casino of Bad Wiessee enjoying its best year for 15 years.
Owned by Spielbanken Bayern, the nine casinos are located in Bad Kissingen, Bad Steben, Feuchtwangen, Bad Kötzting, Bad Füssing, Bad Reichenhall, Bad Wiessee, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and Lindau.
Bad Wiessee again led the way with gross gaming revenue coming in at €33m, its highest revenue since 2007. It attracted almost 130,000 visitors during the year. Slot machines accounted for €28m with table games generating €5.5m.
“Mainly the visitors from the greater Munich area but also from the districts around Rosenheim, Miesbach, Berchtesgadener Land and Garmisch as well as from the Augsburg / Swabia area,” the casino operator stated.
The nine casinos paid around €28m in taxes to the local government.
