Texas Lottery Gives Players Something To Chew On This Summer With Jaws!
WINNIPEG, Manitoba, June 3, 2025 /CNW/ – Pollard Banknote Limited (“Pollard Banknote”; TSX: PBL) congratulates the Texas Lottery (“the Lottery”) on the launch of its Jaws–inspired $5 scratch ticket program. The stunning ticket art features the film’s iconic poster image which is enhanced with Pollard Banknote’s Spectrum Scratch FX® print innovation. With a top prize of $100,000 up for grabs, the scratch ticket also boasts an exciting second-chance opportunity for Texas Lottery® players. Pollard Banknote has teamed up with Atlas Experiences, LLC (“Atlas”) to offer Texas Lottery players a chance to win a trip to Austin, Texas, where they will participate in the $1,000,000 Jaws Challenge at an Alamo Drafthouse for a chance to swim away with $1,000,000.

Jaws, the original summer blockbuster and one of the highest-grossing films of all time from Steven Spielberg and Universal Pictures, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Jaws’ iconic imagery makes it a perfect fit for a summer-themed instant ticket, and the success speaks for itself—the Texas Lottery’s Jaws-inspired program marks the fifth lottery launch leveraging the anniversary of Jaws in 2025 alone. This is in addition to five Jaws-inspired games that were launched in 2024, all of which were fan favorites.
The Lottery’s comprehensive marketing campaign developed by Pollard Banknote gives Texas Lottery players something to sink their teeth into with the likes of custom-designed point-of-sale, radio spots featuring the iconic Jaws score, Jaws-themed merchandise prize packages for giveaways, digital ads and an engaging trivia-themed social media contest.
Building on this excitement, the Lottery has teamed up with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to offer exclusive “Jaws On The Water” events throughout June and July. Backed by a statewide marketing campaign, these immersive and unforgettable screening experiences invite fans to watch Jaws while floating on custom-designed Jaws 50th anniversary and Texas Lottery-branded inner tubes in the shark-free waters of Lake Travis. Additionally, the sponsorship provides the Lottery an opportunity to advertise the scratch ticket on-screen in Alamo Drafthouse theater locations across the state.
“Jaws is set to make a splash this summer in Texas,” said Sergio Rey, Acting Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Lottery. “With a multifaceted marketing strategy and promotional events, paired with jaw-dropping ticket design, our players will surely be lining up to dive into this game!”
“Jaws continues to stand the test of time as a global phenomenon,” said Brad Thompson, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Pollard Banknote. “We’re excited to partner with the Texas Lottery to launch this new Jaws program—and what better time to make waves in the market than during the 50th anniversary of this iconic 1975 movie?”
Beginning with the first ticket sold in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated more than $40 billion in revenue for the state and distributed more than $91 billion in prizes to lottery players. Since 1997, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas. As authorized by the Texas Legislature, certain Texas Lottery revenues benefit state programs including the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. Since the first veterans’ themed scratch ticket game was launched in 2009, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $267 million for programs supporting Texas veterans.
