One lucky racing fan and their guest participating in the NTRA’s #JustifyandI selfie promotion will win a free trip for two to Miami for the January 2019 Eclipse Awards – including airfare, two nights at the luxurious Turnberry Isle Miami, tickets to the Eclipse Awards ceremony, and more – thanks to EquiLottery, the company offering Kentucky’s Win Place Show, a lottery game based on the results of live horse racing, through select Kentucky Lottery retailers in March.
The 48th Annual Eclipse Awards, presented by Breeders’ Cup, Daily Racing Form, The Stronach Group and TVG, are set for Jan. 24, 2019, in the Sport of Kings Theatre at Gulfstream Park.
To enter the Kentucky’s Win Place Show #JustifyandI VIP Fan Experience, fans should post a selfie with Justify to Twitter and use the hashtag #JustifyandI, which was established by the NTRA to celebrate the undefeated 3-year-old Thoroughbred and his special connection with horse enthusiasts around the world. Tagging @NTRA on Twitter or posting an image to the wall of the official NTRA Facebook page (Facebook.com/1NTRA) will also count as an official submission. All of the selfies entered will be included in a video montage shown during the Eclipse Awards ceremony.
The winning selfie will be selected by a panel of judges and determined based on the quality and composition of the image, virality, originality, and other factors. Fans unable to see Justify in person are encouraged to get creative and submit a #JustifyandI image with the Triple Crown winner on television, in a magazine, or even on a pari-mutuel ticket.
The winning prize package also includes backstage access at the Eclipse Awards, a Friday morning tour of the Gulfstream Park backside to visit Eclipse Awards finalists and Pegasus World Cup contenders, passes for live racing at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 24-25, and tickets to the lavish Friday night Eclipse Awards/Pegasus World Cup party in the Gulfstream Park walking ring.
Justify, officially retired Wednesday following an undefeated campaign that saw him rocket from maiden winner to Triple Crown winner in the span of four months, will be paraded Saturday at Del Mar. Justify became American racing’s 13th Triple Crown winner earlier this year by sweeping the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1), the Preakness Stakes (G1), and the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets (G1). The son of Scat Daddy – ridden by Mike Smith and trained by Bob Baffert for owners China Horse Club, WinStar Farm, Starlight Racing, and Head of Plains Partners – was a perfect six-for-six during his brilliant career.
“We’re thankful an innovative company like EquiLottery is partnering with the NTRA to provide one lucky fan and a guest with what we promise will be an unforgettable experience at the 48th annual Eclipse Awards,” said NTRA chief operating officer Keith Chamblin.
“It’s a great pleasure to work with the NTRA and be a part of the Eclipse Awards again this year,” said EquiLottery Founder and CEO Brad Cummings. “But it’s even more rewarding to play a small part in both promoting this tremendous equine athlete and an industry we care about deeply.”
