Job Description: The Iowa Lottery is seeking an outgoing and results driven Corporate Account Rep to join our Sales team who will work with our corporate account retailers on matters relating to the sale, marketing and promotion of lottery products.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain solid relationships with corporate accounts in order to maximize sales. He/she will understand the corporate accounts’ needs; provide quality customer service in order to resolve issues and complaints; and will be a strategic and creative thinker who is able to identify additional revenue streams and recruit new business.
Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Retail Services, performs the following duties:
Develops and maintains a professional relationship with corporate accounts to provide assistance relating to lottery sales programs, brand strategy, point-of-sale placement expectations, promotions, and advertising opportunities.
Visits corporate accounts periodically to: consult with store managers and staff to analyze store activity; identify and recommend marketing and promotional opportunities; and ascertain issues that need to be addressed.
Presents lottery tickets as a value-added product to be offered to the retailer’s customers; provides information on sales plans and programs; explains the advertising, promotions and sales training provided by the lottery.
Prepares reports summarizing ticket sales activities at corporate account retail locations and makes recommendations to optimize the sale and promotion of lottery products. Attends lottery promotional/special tent events held at retail locations and other public venues.
Represents the lottery at events sponsored by various trade associations including Iowa Grocery Industry Association (IGIA) and FUELIowa. Travels to trade association conferences. Identifies and recruits new key account retail chains to grow the Iowa Lottery retailer network and increase ticket sales.
