Kentucky Lottery Reports Another Record Sales Year

The Kentucky Lottery recently closed the latest fiscal year with record sales and money being transferred to college scholarship programs across the state.

Senior VP of Communications Chip Polston tells the News Edge sales closed at $1.59 billion.

Polston attributes the increase in sales to the fact that most businesses were closed to in-person traffic during the pandemic.

He adds for decades, the two reasons people played Kentucky Lottery games were because of large Powerball or Mega Millions jackpots or a desire to win big amounts of money.

With the record amount of money generated, Polston says they have more money to give to college programs, like KEES funding.
