JOB: Executive Director, Missouri Lottery

Starting Annual Salary Range: $112,000 - $137,305

About the Missouri Lottery:
The Missouri Lottery helps to generate funds for educational opportunities for Missouri students, support
Missouri businesses and entertain millions. The Missouri Lottery was created in 1985 and since 1994 has
used it proceeds to help fund the state’s public education programs. The Missouri Lottery is a $1.8 billion
dollar business and provided more than $400 million this year to educational opportunities for Missouri
students. The Missouri Lottery is type III division with responsibilities set forth under RSMo 313.

Responsibilities:
The Executive Director is responsible for creating policy and setting goals while providing visionary
leadership. Cultivate a positive, growth-oriented work environment and culture. Oversee a $50 million
annual budget and 153.5 FTE. Provide objective information and reports to the Missouri Lottery
Commission. Research, develop, and implement new products, games, and methods for increasing sales
and transfers to education, while ensuring the integrity of a fair lottery system. Ensure that the
organization’s vision, mission, goals, and initiatives are being met. Responsible for final approval of major
RFP contracts.
Qualifications:
At least six years of progressive, professional experience in senior or executive management positions of
a large and complex organization. Knowledge of Missouri state government, including the budgeting and
legislative processes. Demonstrated competencies in strategic thinking, analytical skills, and
interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to lead others in a manner which supports,
promotes, and fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace. Ability to lead process improvement projects
through project management principles, including the ability to develop and utilize data to evaluate project
and programs, the ability to measure project and program performance, and to make adjustments based
on data-driven outcomes.
