58 PUBLIC GAMING INTERNATIONAL • MAY/JUNE 2020 “Just as it was on Day 1 of the Tennessee Lottery, everything we do is focused on our larger mission to serve Tennessee by generating proceeds for education. Since January 20, 2004, the Lottery has raised more than $5.38 billion to fund designated education programs, including college grants, scholarships like HOPE, Drive to 55 initiatives and after- school programs. In total, nearly 1.5 million scholarships and grants have been awarded since 2004. In the 2018-2019 academic year alone, there were more than 147,000 grants and scholarships funded by the Lottery. With that mission in mind, we will continue to develop new and innovative products and services that support those initiatives.” Rebecca Hargrove, President & CEO TENNESSEE EDUCATION LOTTERY “Benefitting older Pennsylvanians every day is more than just our mission statement. Families across the commonwealth rely on the vital senior programs that are funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery. That is why last fiscal year we were extremely proud to have set a new profit record while exceeding $1 billion in proceeds to benefit older adults for the eighth consecutive year. We want our players, business partners and the entire Pennsylvania Lottery team to know how much we value them and that they are the driving force behind our success.” Drew Svitko, Executive Director PENNSYLVANIA LOTTERY “The Massachusetts State Lottery returned a record $1.1 billion to the Commonwealth last year for distribution of essential unrestricted local aid to all 351 cities and towns. In Massachusetts, Lottery funds are not designated for specific programs, allowing each city and town to choose how they would like to allocate their funds. Examples of how these funds are utilized include public safety stang and equipment, snow removal, local road improvements, school services, programs for seniors, and parks and recreation projects.” Michael Sweeney, Executive Director MASSACHUSETTS LOTTERY
