South Carolina tribe gives casino plan to North Carolina governor

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper's administration has received a proposal from a South Carolina-based Native American tribe on how it would like to operate a casino in Cleveland County.   A Cooper spokesperson confirmed on Friday that the governor's office had received the draft from the Catawba Indian Nation.    The proposal was first reported by WRAL-TV.   Any proposal could ultimately become a gambling compact that lays out what games would be offered and what revenues the state would receive.    The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is fighting a federal government decision allowing the Catawba to build a casino on the land.    https://abcnews4.com/news/local/south-carolina-tribe-gives-casino-plan-to-north-carolina-governor
