Reminder: European Lottery Association (EL) Webinar 10 June (15-16:00 CET): National Lotteries for the Benefit of Society

The role national lotteries play for the benefit of European society

A webinar organised by The European Lotteries (EL) under the patronage of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU
From education, science, art, culture and sport, to supporting the disadvantaged and disabled, there are many deserving calls within the EU that must deal with limited funding. For decades, funding from national lotteries has been a sustainable and fundamental source of income to support good causes without which European society would be €21 billion poorer every given year.

Join us as we discuss:
  • National lotteries’ support to the benefit of European society;

  • The historic role of national lotteries in supporting local communities in times of need, e.g. during the COVID-19 crisis;

  • The threat for the national lottery model, and;

  • The importance of safeguarding and supporting the national lotteries model in Europe in strict observance of the principle of subsidiarity.
Moderated by EL Secretary General Arjan van ‘t Veer, the webinar brings together lottery CEOs, direct beneficiaries of lottery funding & EU policy-makers.
